As the summer sun stretches its warm hand across our island, we find ourselves facing a heatwave that is both a blessing and a challenge. Met Éireann has extended its hot weather advisory until next Friday, July 17, as temperatures are expected to soar into the 30s in some areas. This is a time for us to come together, to care for the vulnerable, and to remember that our strength lies in our community.
A Status Yellow high-temperature warning remains in place for 13 counties, including Carlow, Cork, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, Limerick, Tipperary, and Waterford, until 7am on Sunday. The national forecaster has confirmed a provisional heatwave in Cork, with Moore Park station recording its fifth consecutive day of over 25 degrees Celsius.
