Olympic Champion Adam Peaty Marries Holly Ramsay in Star-Studded Bath Abbey Ceremony
Olympic swimming champion Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay, daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony at Bath Abbey on Saturday, bringing together some of Britain's most recognisable faces in celebration.
The wedding drew notable guests including former England captain David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, who attended with their children Romeo, Cruz and Harper. The ceremony highlighted the couple's connections across sport, entertainment and media.
Dragons' Den entrepreneur Sara Davies, who formed a close friendship with Peaty during their time on Strictly Come Dancing, shared her joy at witnessing the occasion. "Yesterday I had the privilege of being at this amazing man's wedding," Davies wrote on social media, praising both the ceremony and the exceptional wedding feast.
A Father's Pride
Gordon Ramsay, 59, walked his 25-year-old daughter down the aisle, later expressing his emotions on social media: "I'm truly so lucky being able to walk this beautiful bride down the aisle and gaining an incredible son-in-law."
The bride's ensemble remained largely concealed beneath an elegant white cloak as she arrived at the historic abbey, though glimpses revealed a scalloped skirt and flowing train. Her bridesmaids included Peaty's sister Bethany and Holly's sisters Megan and Tilly, each carrying bouquets of what appeared to be calla lilies.
Family Complexities
However, the celebration was marked by notable absences. Peaty's parents, Caroline and Mark, were missing from the ceremony following what has been described as a family dispute. Caroline Peaty had previously spoken about feeling excluded from wedding preparations, though she expressed her continued love and support for the couple.
Channel 5 presenter Dan Walker, another Strictly alumnus, described the event as a "great wedding" with "top people," praising the service and reception.
Love Story Origins
The couple's romance began in 2021 when they met through Holly's sister Tilly during their respective appearances on Strictly Come Dancing. Their engagement was announced in September 2024, with Holly describing Peaty as her "best friend."
Peaty, who has won six Olympic medals representing Great Britain, was previously in a relationship with artist Eirianedd Munro, with whom he has a five-year-old child.
The Bath Abbey ceremony represents a new chapter for both families, bringing together the worlds of elite sport and celebrity cuisine in a celebration that, despite family tensions, showcased the couple's commitment to their shared future.
